Movies As Literature Group
Time & Location
About the Event
This cool literature class will be open for 8th-12th graders. We will gather in homes for fellowship as we view the movie of the month. We will discuss and introduce ideas like allusion, dramatic foils, irony and so much more. People have very different reactions to the same movie. We hope to foster a judgement free zone for our group.
The ultimate goal is to encourage and equip the students to examine ideas, articulate what they are thinking, and share respectfully so that they can learn from one another. Each student will be required to write a short response to the film. They will bring their response to the following class.
MOVIES (subject to change)
Dec. 3rd-A Christmas Carol
Jan. 7th-Miracle Worker
Feb. 4th-To Kill A Mockingbird
April 1-Apollo 13
We will have snacks, fellowship and fun! Due to social distancing we can only take 12 students. Masks are not required but up to each family.
Our first movie will be held at Tracey's house: 2153 Whiteford Rd. Whiteford, MD
